KNCC wins Office Building of the Year Award at the Excellence in Concrete Awards for Crane Shed Commons

May 1, 2018 – Friday evening April 27, Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company received the “Office Building of the Year Award” for the Crane Shed Commons Project in the “Office Category Division”, at the 38th. annual Banquet of Excellence in Concrete Awards Ceremony held in Salem at the Grand Hotel.  The Excellence in Concrete Awards program began 38 years ago, and continues today, to recognize projects that use concrete in extensive or innovative ways.

The Crane Shed Commons is located in Bend, Oregon and is owned and developed by Crane Shed Commons, LLC. The architect for the project was TVA Architects Incorporated, with the structural engineering being completed by Froelich Engineers and LaRusso Concrete placed and finished the concrete. The ready-mix supplier was Hooker Creek Companies, LLC.

Company President Jeff Deswert and project Foreman E.J. Parker excepted the award on behalf of Kirby Nagelhout Constriction Company.

KNCC Honored at the 2018 Meal of the Year Celebration at COCC

February 28, 2018 – Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company (KNCC) was the Honoree at the annual Meal of the Year Celebration at the Central Oregon Community College Campus in Bend on Saturday evening. This was the 40th anniversary for the Meal of the Year and the first time in the history of the fundraiser that a company was the honoree. In years past, individuals or couples in the Central Oregon area had been honored for their annual support of the scholarship fundraiser. The funds raised at the event help hundreds of students with academic tuition expense each year. KNCC has been an annual sponsor of the event since 1995 and proudly supports the College and its students. “One of our most important aspects of business is centered on giving back to our communities. We focus largely on children’s health and safety as well as educational causes such as the COCC Foundation,” according to Company President Jeff Deswert who accepted the award and spoke to those in attendance about the pride of the KNCC family of employees giving back to the community.

Crook County 4H

Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company (KNCC) are proud supporters each year of area 4-H auctions held at county fairs in the communities that we have the privilege of being associated with. This summer was no exception, with support in Sherman County, Moro County, Deschutes County and Crook County Fair. “County Fairs and the support of young people learning valuable lessons about leadership, life and responsibility is a big part of giving back to our communities” said Jeff Deswert KNCC President. Tyson Milliron KNCC Superintendent, is pictured with Clay Wagner of the Crook County 4-H with a steer that was purchased at the auction. KNCC also purchased a pig at the auction from Gladys Mendoza. All the livestock purchased, will be donated to area food banks in the Prineville community for those less fortunate.

Crane Operator Certification

 Kirby Nagelhout Crane Operators took a National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators refresher training and exam this week.  This shows our personnel’s dedication and commitment to continuous training and education. Congratulations to all those who participated in the 3 day long class!

COCC Meal of the Year

Saturday evening, February 25th, was the annual “Meal of the Year” event for Central Oregon Community College. The Event was held at Mazama Gym on the COCC Campus.

The Meal of the year supports the dreams and aspirations of COCC students by raising money for scholarships that will open doors once closed and change the lives of students forever.

Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company are annual supporters of the event and scholarship program with an annual donation for student scholarships and education expenses.

Bend LaPine School District snow removal Thank You letter

The Central Oregon area experienced a few weeks of extended weather in the form of snow fall and cold temperatures.  With the continuous weather conditions the area started to experience unusual snow loads, resulting in structure failures.  The Bend LaPine School District asked Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company to help remove the snow load from the roofs on the schools thru-out the district.  We were happy to assist the local schools, and were pleased to be acknowledged by the district in following letter:

Central Oregon Builders Association Commercial Builder of the Year Award

At the annual awards banquet held by the Central Oregon Builders Association (COBA), Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company was awarded the 2016, Commercial Builder of the Year Award. The award was presented by Tim Knopp the Executive Vice President of COBA. “KNCC, has won dozens of awards for excellence including the Bend Chamber Business of the Year, Building a Better Central Oregon, the Governors Livability Award and the World of Concrete, Excellence Award. KNCC, is also a major donor to many Central Oregon Charities. This is their 5th. COBA Excellence Award” stated Executive Vice President Tim Knopp.
