Sherman County School – Project Update

Work continues on the Sherman County School located in Moro Oregon. The project is in full swing with obvious progress being made on the school project.

The project includes an addition to the existing school, a new agriculture building and a new building for grades K-5.  Kirby Nagelhout Construction started work on the project in mid-August 2015.

Work Continues at Nosler Project in Redmond Oregon

Work continues on the 31,000 square foot Nosler Building located in Redmond Oregon. The building is a single story tilt-up concrete structure with steel joists, metal  deck and steel columns. Kirby Nagelhout Construction employees prepare the forming for the tilt-up concrete structure. The project is slated for substantial completion in December 2015.

Humane Society of Central Oregon

Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company has recently completed a remodel and addition to the existing building of the Humane Society of Central Oregon located in Bend.

The project is called the “Cattery Addition”. The addition provides 575 square feet of added space to help deal with the increase in cat population in the Central Oregon area.

Kirby Nagelhout Nagelhout Construction Company was very proud to work on this project and assist the community in the humane care of animals in our area.

John Day Fire Station – Groundbreaking

On September 15, 2015 a Ground Breaking Ceremony  was held in John Day Oregon in celebration of the beginning of construction for the new ” John Day Fire Station “.

” After several years of planning and after generous support from our community, the long awaited John Day Fire Station Project is scheduled to proceed” said John Day City Mayor Ron Lundbom.

Several community members and elected officials gathered for the official ground breaking ceremony held at the 316 S. Canyon Blvd. in John Day.

The project has been made possible as the result of the passage of a Bond Measure by the citizens of John Day in May of 2014. Additional contributions for the project were obtained through grants and other funding from the Ford Family Foundation, the Meyers Memorial Trust and the Oregon Community Foundation.

Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company should complete this project in Spring of 2016.

 

 

Press Release about the John Day Fire Station Project

“After several years of planning and after generous support from our community, the long awaited John Day Fire Station Project is scheduled to proceed” said John Day City Mayor Ron Lundbom.

In May of 2014 the citizens of John Day and the citizens of the John Day Rural Fire Protection District passed a 15 year bond to help support the proceeds needed to construct a new Fire Station that will be located in the City of John Day and serve the surrounding area with much needed emergency service.

In addition to the citizen bond totaling $1,205,000.00, additional proceeds from The Ford Family Foundation totaling $200,000.00, Meyer Memorial Trust Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation in the amount of $200,000.00, Glen and Jean McKenzie Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation in the amount of $20,000.00, Shelk Fund of The Oregon Community Foundation in the amount of $1,000.00 and Trust Management Services, LLC in the amount of $9,170.00 accounted for the additional proceeds needed for the project.

After more than twenty years of planning and collaboration the newly constructed fire station will house the Volunteer Fire personnel and equipment within the city of John Day as well the John Day Rural Fire Protection District. Lundbom went on to say, “we appreciate very much the support of the citizens with this project and it very much increases our ability to effectively deliver quality responsive emergency services to our citizens. By combining the fire station and the community/training room for nonprofit groups at no charge to the public, we have maximized our available resources .”

The construction project is scheduled to begin in September with a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., 316 S. Canyon Blvd, John Day. The building will be constructed by Nagelhout Construction Company from Bend and is anticipated that the project should be complete in February 2016.

Redmond Nosler Project Continues

Work continues on the 30,000 square foot Nosler Building located in Redmond Oregon. Kirby Nagelhout Construction employees are preparing the site and placing for concrete this week. The project is on schedule and should be completed in December.

Silver Rail Elementary

Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company (KNCC) is placing the finishing touches on Silver Rail Elementary School located  in Bend Oregon.

KNCC began work on the 69,470 square foot building in May of 2014 and the school is scheduled to be completed and ready for students September 2015.

The school design offers the students areas for group study and the first newly constructed Elementary School of its kind in the Bend Lapine School District to have a commons/lunch area not integrated with the gymnasium.

The school also offers energy efficient LED lighting and a heat recovery system to minimize heat loss and save energy.

Bend LaPine Schools – Ribbon Cuttings

The ribbon cutting at the new Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend Oregon is the second this week for Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company. A ribbon cutting ceremony was also held earlier this week at the newly constructed Pacific Crest Middle School.

The Bend LaPine School District and School Board welcomed students and parents to the ribbon cutting ceremony held September 3, 2015.

Work began on the 69,470 square foot building in May of 2014 and is ready for its first students on September 8.

 

Pacific Crest Middle School Open House

 

On September 2, 2015 the Bend LaPine School District Administration and School Board hosted an open house for parents and students to celebrate the newly constructed Pacific Crest Middle School located in Bend Oregon.  Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company started construction on the 120,000 square foot building in June of 2014. The school has been completed and is ready for students and staff for the first day of school on September 8.
