Job Description:

As a Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company (KNCC) Recruiter, your primary responsibility is to identify, attract, and recruit top talent for various positions within our construction organization. You will play a crucial role in building a skilled and motivated workforce to contribute to the success of our projects. This position requires a combination of recruiting expertise, industry knowledge, and effective communication skills.


  • Talent Acquisition: Source, identify, and engage potential candidates through various channels such as job boards, social media, networking events, and industry associations.
  • Job Posting and Advertising: Create compelling job descriptions and advertisements to attract qualified candidates. Utilize online platforms and traditional methods to maximize visibility.
  • Candidate Screening: Review resumes, conduct initial interviews, and assess candidates for their technical skills, experience, and cultural fit within the construction industry.
  • Collaboration with Hiring Managers: Work closely with hiring managers to understand their staffing needs, develop job specifications, and create a recruitment strategy tailored to each position.
  • Interview Coordination: Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates, hiring managers, and interview teams. Provide guidance to all parties throughout the interview process.
  • Negotiation and Offer Management: Facilitate salary negotiations, present job offers, and ensure a smooth transition from candidate acceptance to onboarding.
  • Maintain Applicant Tracking System (ATS): Keep the ATS up to date with accurate candidate information, notes, and progress updates. Generate reports as needed.
  • Networking and Industry Engagement: Build relationships with industry professionals, attend construction-related events, and stay informed about market trends to proactively identify potential candidates.
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and improve recruitment processes, tools, and strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Agency Management: Effectively manage relationships with external headhunters and recruitment agencies to ensure a streamlined and collaborative talent acquisition process.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in recruitment, preferably within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction roles, skills, and industry trends.
  • Excellent communication, decision making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems, job boards, and recruitment tools, such as LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel as required.
