This new 40,000 sf building allows for the consolidation of snow removal equipment, airport maintenance, and offices into a singular large facility. The building is a combination of a pre-engineered metal building at the snow equipment portion, masonry structure at the maintenance bays, and steel structure at the offices. Close coordination was taken between the architects and the airport facilities personnel to build a successful facility while dealing with multiple constraints, including working at active commercial airport and dealing with COVID-19. After the construction completed, the KNCC project team was congratulated for their management of social distancing and mask-usage throughout the project.
