Buddy Benches have been adopted by schools around the U.S. to promote student friendship and to discourage bullying. As a member of the Bend Lions Club, Steve Olson of Steele Associates Architects arranged for a Buddy Bench to be purchased for Elk Meadow Elementary in Bend. Steve asked Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company President, Jeff Deswert for help with installation and the bench has been installed at no charge to the School District or the Bend Lions Club. KNCC, employees Don Houk and Bob Snyder are pictured placing the Buddy Bench at Elk Meadow School.
