COLUMBIA COUNTY COURTHOUSE IMPROVEMENTS

Project Description

KNCC and SOLARC embarked on this design-build project to renovate the historic Columbia County Courthouse. The courthouse, built in 1906, is a neo-classical revial style with basalt lava rock exterior, a traditional cornice roof, and a large, white bell tower. Given its age, the building was in desperate need of modernizations. KNCC conducted improvements including seismic upgrades to the Bell Tower, a new elevator, and corresponding elevator vestibule. Thanks to this project, the annex and the historic courthouse now have ADA access to all floors.
